Beauty photography demands specific lighting: flattering skin tones, controlled shadows on facial features, clean colour reproduction on wardrobe and makeup. The 650m² cyclorama studio in Limassol is set up for beauty work from the fixture inventory to the wardrobe support.

Why Cyclorama for Beauty Work

The infinity white background isolates the subject with no environmental colour bleed. That means true skin tones and accurate wardrobe colour — critical for cosmetic brands, hair colour campaigns, and skincare editorial where product must appear exactly as it looks in real life.

Standard Beauty Lighting Setup

The classic beauty setup: large overhead soft source (ARRI SkyPanel S120 through a chimera, or an octabox) as key light, reflector or white bounce below to fill shadow under the chin, small hair-light behind, and a mild rim from behind the subject if editorial mood is required. Everything modelled with dimmable LED for perfect control.

Editorial vs Commercial Beauty

Commercial beauty (product ads, DTC campaigns) uses flat, even lighting for perfect skin. Editorial beauty (magazine, campaign) uses sculpted lighting with strong contrast and shadow play. Our lighting grid supports both approaches within the same shoot day.

Wardrobe & Makeup Support

Full dressing rooms with proper lighting for makeup application, garment steaming area, and easy access to the studio floor. Talent can go from touch-up to camera in under a minute — important when shooting 40-50 shots per session.

Cameras & Lenses for Beauty

Preferred camera bodies: ARRI Alexa Mini for cinematic video beauty, medium format Fujifilm GFX or Phase One for editorial stills, and full-frame Canon or Sony bodies for high-speed shoots. Beauty lenses in our inventory include Sigma Art primes and Leica R glass. All available from Kino Rentals.
