Green screen (chroma key) production in Cyprus has a specific place: when your final image needs the subject to appear in an environment that does not physically exist. Here is when to book a green screen instead of the standard cyclorama.

What Green Screen Actually Does

Green screen is a placeholder. During shoot, the subject stands in front of a saturated green background. In post-production, that green is replaced (keyed out) with any environment: CGI, plate photography, virtual sets, dynamic graphics for broadcast. The subject appears in the new environment convincingly.

Our 650m² studio in Limassol can be configured with green screen panels alongside the white cyclorama. This dual capability means productions can shoot some setups against infinity white and others against chroma key in the same day — saving location moves and staging time.

When Green Screen Wins

Feature films with fantastical settings. News and weather broadcasts. Music videos with stylised graphic environments. Virtual production workflows. Corporate videos where the subject appears against dynamic branded graphics. If the final environment is not a place you can practically visit or build, green screen is the answer.

Post-Production Considerations

Green screen requires a skilled compositor and colour grader in post. Poor lighting, spill or shadow on the green will make keying difficult and expensive. Our in-house post team handles the keying if you do not have your own compositor — or we can deliver clean keyed source footage for your team to composite.

Cost Implications

Green screen shooting costs the same as cyclorama shooting on the day. The extra investment is post — keying, spill removal, environment integration typically runs €1,000 to €10,000 per minute of finished footage depending on complexity. Budget for it upfront.
