Not all studio hire in Cyprus is created equal. Before you commit to a cyclorama or photo studio booking, check these five criteria — they are the difference between a productive shoot day and a costly reshoot.

1. Studio Size Matters

Most photo studios in Cyprus are 40-80m² — comfortable for portrait photography, tight for anything else. If you are shooting full-length figures, group scenes, cars or wide product lineups, you need 100m² minimum on the floor. Red Storm Films 650m² is Cyprus largest for good reason: it is the only studio that comfortably fits multi-subject blocking, dance choreography, or vehicles.

2. Ceiling Height Matters

Overhead lights, boom operators, top-down camera positions, jib arms — all need vertical clearance. Standard photo studios have 3-4m ceilings. Our cyclorama has 8m. That is the difference between rigging a light overhead cleanly and being forced to hide it in-frame.

3. Lighting Grid & Fixture Compatibility

Ask what fixtures the studio grid supports. Basic studios take DSLR-style speedlights. Professional cinema-grade studios support ARRI SkyPanel, HMI (up to 18K), tungsten, Kino Flo, and dimmer control. If you are shooting anything commercial or cinema-quality, you want the second kind.

4. Access & Loading

Can trucks pull up to load equipment? Is there a dedicated production door for vehicles or large props? Free parking for cast and crew? These logistical details determine whether shoot day feels smooth or chaotic.

5. What Is Actually Included

Every rate quoted needs to itemise: base studio, lighting (basic or hire-additional), grip package, dressing rooms, kitchenette, parking. Ask for the full inclusions list before booking.
